What is the Challenge
Congratulations to the winners of the 2nd Annual Nevada FAFSA Challenge! We had three winners this year: Indian Springs High School, West Career and Technical Academy, and Del Sol Academy of the Performing Arts!
We will be back in the fall to announce the 3rd Annual Nevada FAFSA Challenge!
Together with partners from the Clark County School District, the Treasurer’s Office, Apply Nevada, UNR, and CSN, the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) is pleased to sponsor the FAFSA completion competition, the Nevada FAFSA Challenge!!

What's in it for You?
The eligible high schools with the highest percentage increase/improvement in FAFSA completions from 2026 to 2027, will win bragging rights and a banner to display at their school until the next winner in their category is announced the following year.
These schools along will recognized at an upcoming NSHE Board of Regents meeting. We will be using NSHE FAFSA Completion data to determine the winners.
How Long?
Competition runs from October 1st – March 31st. As long as your school is eligible to participate by March 31st, you will be able to participate in the competition.
Who is Eligible?
To be eligible, Nevada high schools that are enrolled in the NSHE FAFSA Completion Initiative for federal student level FAFSA completion data, are eligible to participate in the competition.
Below is a list of current school or district participants. If your school is not listed, talk to your principal about receiving this important data that will help you to provide meaningful assistance to your students! If you would like more information about the NSHE FAFSA Completion Initiative for federal student level FAFSA completion data, please contact Ashley Salisbury at asalisbury@nshe.nevada.edu.
There will be three lucky winners this time based on senior class size, small 1-199, medium 200-499, and large 500+. One winner in each class size will be selected by the Nevada FAFSA Challenge planning committee (All decisions are final)
